Still happy after all these years
Over ten years ago, systems integrator Questek introduced a Barco rear-projection video wall (LCD technology) at Telkom’s National Network Operations Center (NNOC) in Centurion. Spanning almost the entire length of the control room (320m – 272 rear-projection cubes) it is still the biggest video wall ever installed in Africa. Operators at the Information Technology Center detect, localize and isolate network problems on a second giant Barco display (132 rear-projection cubes). Both video walls are still performing flawlessly, in spite of all the years that have gone by!
Collaboration wall
To impress VIP (prospective) customers and business partners at its new Experience Center, Telkom has now chosen our seamless, flat OSV-711F collaboration video wall. Intelligently connected to six ceiling-mounted Barco laser phosphor projectors (PGWX-62L) which project images onto the floor, the video wall guides visitors on their tour through the center. And, in fact, there’s more Barco at Telkom: the meeting room of the Experience center features 3 ClickShare CSC units, allowing visitors to the 30-seat room to experience the ease of sharing information via the Barco collaborative solution.
The power of strong partnerships
“We have been supplying Barco solutions in South Africa for the past 28 years. We had every confidence that the combination of our team and Barco solutions was a cast-iron guarantee for a result that would wow every visitor. Moreover, the solution is very reliable and futureproof. We are really proud to be part of this amazing project. It is evidence that the right partnerships and state-of-the-art technology can lead to world firsts that far exceed initial expectations,” said Questek Advanced Technologies.
