Beijing, China, 27 March 2013 – Global visualization leader Barco is proud to announce that the company has notched up five awards at the 2012 China Radio and Television Equipment Industrial Association’s (CRTA) Science and Technology Innovation Awards, held on 23 March 2013. Barco has swept up awards for its innovative flair and premium visualization solutions.
China Content Broadcasting Networking Exhibition (CCBN) is an annual event hosted by the State Administration of Press Publication and Broadcasting (the former State Administration of Radio Film and Television) of China. As a key part of the CCBN, the CRTA Science and Technology Innovation Awards are widely recognized as a nationally important award that plays a benchmarking role in the industry, arousing great interest across the sector.
With high-quality products and technological innovation practices focusing on changing trends and customer demands, Barco stood out from the competition, picking up five major awards. Driven by further implementation of the 12th Five-Year Plan of China, the culture industry expects a new round of great-leap-forward development. Satisfying ever-changing market demands is what drives Barco’s technology innovation forward, and it is also the reason why Barco’s products and solutions are highly prized by its customers.
To address general requirements of control room users, Barco launched the industry-standard MVL video wall last year. Featuring high color fidelity, premium image quality, increased brightness and a lower total cost of ownership (TCO), the MVL has been selected for many projects by several TV stations and broadcasting authorities in the radio and television industry, such as Dezhou TV Station, Dongying TV Station, Hebei TV Station, Communication University of China, Hong Kong Asia Television, Zhejiang Deqing Meteorological Station, etc.
DP2K-10S is a compact, fully integrated, DCI-compliant projector, specially designed for the special needs of smaller theaters, independent cinemas and art houses. This high-performance projector offers cost-effective, digital cinema projection solutions for renovation and upgrading projects at cinemas in 2- and 3-tier cities in China. Since February 2013, over 200 units have been installed already in Chinese cinemas, thus helping local cinemas to embrace digitization.
Networking and visualization will be the future trends of the display industry, while collaboration technology could become front-end technology for networking purposes. Barco has launched ClickShare, the first, groundbreaking solution specially designed for meeting-room presentations and collaboration. This one-click wonder not only helps the presenter get the presentation on screen in a trice, but it also allows the other people in the meeting to participate more actively. In addition, it enables rapid switching between different presenters. The result is enhanced operator confidence, resulting in better presentations.
Mr. Karl Reynders, Barco's Vice-President Sales & Marketing for Greater China: “It is a great honor for Barco to win these awards again. Not only is it recognition of our commitment to technological innovation, but also greatly encouraging to us to move forward on the path of innovation. Along with the development of the radio and television industry, networking and visualization have become part of the future entertainment landscape. We’ll continue to engage in the development of innovative products, thus providing more premium products to satisfy user demands.”
