LONG BEACH, Calif. – Jan. 14, 2015 – Epson, the number-one selling projector brand worldwide1, has partnered with Sean Kelly Gallery to provide PowerLite® Pro G6750WU large venue projectors for the exhibition Sun Xun: The Time Vivarium at Sean Kelly Gallery, New York. The exhibition, on view through Jan. 24, is being presented in two phases: paintings and an animated film.
The Time Vivarium explores a different viewpoint on China’s complex history, comparing ordinary citizens’ thoughts to what has been officially presented by public agencies. The first phase featured paintings, murals and a Chinese folding album. Throughout the month of December, Mr. Sun made new work in a studio located at the gallery. This new work was added to and extended the initial exhibition. The second phase of the exhibition, which opened on Jan. 6, features an animated film created from Mr. Sun’s paintings and drawings. The film is projected using four Epson PowerLite Pro G projectors, which utilize edge blending technology and create a large seamless, panoramic image.
“We are so glad to welcome Sun Xun back to the New York art community with a moving exhibition inspired by Chinese history and socio-political complexity,” said Sean Kelly Director Janine Cirincione. “To showcase Mr. Sun’s video art, we required a flexible projection solution that delivers true-to-life color and high image quality to tell the story effectively, and Epson’s projectors were the right fit for us.”
Epson projectors offer three times higher color brightness than leading competitive projectors2. The PowerLite Pro G6750 projectors provide the ultimate multimedia experience with uncompromised image quality and advanced features including 3-chip 3LCD technology, 6,000 lumens of color brightness and 6,000 lumens of white light brightness3, optional lens shift, built-in edge blending and diverse selection of inputs for easy installation.
“Art comes in many different forms, and the ability to project an artist’s work without color or image distortion is crucial,” said Sean Gunduz, senior product manager, Projectors, Epson America. “Our 3-chip 3LCD large venue projectors provide sharp, rich images and advanced display technology including integrated edge blending technology to showcase Sun Xun’s work and captivate audiences.”
